Surface Thoughts

A strange little novelette I wrote when I was 15. It was part of a contest to get into an anthology of short stories (Ascending), but it was too long. The publisher, Don Thornton, thought it was so good he rolled it into its own book!

The story is about two telepathic brothers fighting over a girl. It features lots of wild imagery as they struggle with each other in the "astral plane".

The illustrations are really creative and otherworldly. I'm often asked if I did them, but sadly I can't claim credit for that! I never did get to meet Zachary and Matthew, but they added something really special to the book.
